New Deal Dairy Farm Training & People 1st are recognised providers of New Deal training in conjunction with local JobCentres.
Full Time Education & Training: This option is available for 18-24 year olds and lasts up to 26 weeks, with the exception of childcare which lasts up to 52 weeks. Participants must have been claiming JSA ( Jobseekers Allowance ) continuously for six months. It involves gaining a placement with an employer and completing an NVQ level 2 in a related area of training, or level 3 for Childcare. Participants will receive an additional £15.38 per week on top of their benefits.
Education & Training Opportunity: This option is available for those aged 25+ and also lasts up to 26 weeks (52 weeks for childcare). Those who take up ETO must be claiming JSA for 18 months. The top-up of £15.38 also applies on this option.
Employer Option: Each New Deal employee is guaranteed quality training towards a recognised qualification. The aim is to help employees become more effective members of staff and thereby enhance their long-term employability. Employers will receive a subsidy towards the employee's wages for the first six months.
In-house Preparation for Employment Programme (13 weeks): Those eligible for this programme must be unemployed and in receipt of JSA ( Jobseekers Allowance ) for 18 months or more. There will be a minimum of 30 hours attendance per week for 13 weeks. It also includes a benefit-based training allowance plus £15.38 per week.
Dairy Farm/People 1st can also offer many types of New Deal training opportunites, including:
• Full NVQ's for Training & Education Options. • 3 Units of NVQ's for Employment or Voluntary options. • In-house Core Gateway 2 week programme. • Specialist courses such as Jobsearch, Basic Skills, Personal Development, Enterprise Awareness, First Aid, Food Hygiene and Counselling. • Computer courses such as CLAIT, Word Processing or Internet.
